Last night was pizza and sweets
To honor the coming rift

Which is not the usual script

The tide of relentless cars
Like grey waves over the hills
Not the worst of deaths, he knows
Normal days, those bitter pills

Here comes the urban bard
Walking his mortality
It was the drug of living loud
Now he craves tranquility

No chronic complaint syndrome
Or beta-alpha bullshit
This Friday there's pleasant news
So for now, just shush and sit

Hours come and hours go
Between laughter, life, and tears
There's nostalgia, too, of course
Already been now a few years

Mighty sunset comes again
Burning orange into eyes
That's pollution, so they say
It's the sky's perfect disguise
As he drives, on he drives

Here lies the urban bard
On his bed, safely back home
It's a much less grim fate than
Lots of folks have going on

Now the drama is kind of old
One whole day is all it takes
To forget about child's play
